David J. Moore is a Managing Partner, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Compass Advisory Group, LLC the parent of Compass EMP, LLC, also known as Compass EMP. Mr. Moore is a Certified Financial Planner through the College of Financial Planning, Denver, Colorado.
Mr. Moore studied Business and Criminal law at Ohio State University and has obtained his CFP designation through the College for Financial Planning.
Mr. Moore began his career at American Express Financial Advisors in 1981. His career grew quickly and he served at various levels within the organization, having retired as Division Vice President in 1995, to pursue his entrepreneurial spirit. Mr. Moore has hired, mentored and trained over 150 advisors in the industry. In 1996, he formed Compass Financial Group, now known as Compass Advisory Group, LLC and subsidiary company Compass Efficient Model Portfolios, LLC. Compass EMP now advises and/or manages in excess of $3 Billion of investment assets for endowments, foundations, institutions, high net worth individuals and Investment Advisors around the country.
Mr. Moore is a sought after speaker and has given over 250 seminars/lectures on topics related to Financial Planning and Investing.
Mr. Moore is an active aerobatic pilot with his Single Engine Land and Sea ratings; Multi-Engine Land and is Instrument rated. He is an active scuba diver; a deacon at Brentwood Baptist Church, and serves on the board of directors of Miriam’s Promise, a Christian adoption agency. He serves on the board of directors of Christian Leadership Concepts, an equipping ministry for men. He also serves with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes ministry. Mr. Moore has been married to his wife Caryl for 36 years and has 5 daughters, 4 sons (in law) and 13 grandchildren.
